Parents and Students,

Tomorrow night, January 31, 2012, the Jazz Band is playing at the Lobo Basketball game. Mr. Applegate is asking and inviting any band that IS ELIGIBLE to perform with them tomorrow night. The band will be meeting at 6 p.m. in the band hall and will play until around 9 p.m. He is asking that if you're playing to wear your band shirt and jeans and make sure to bring your flip-folder because you'll only be playing stand tunes.

Thanks!

Game Itenerary         8/25/2011 1:39:42 PM

The first performance of the Lobo band is quickly approaching and it is time to learn and re-remember many of the pre-game tasks that each of you will be responsible for Friday.

Uniform: Make sure you have made necessary alterations to the uniform so it is worn to specification. All buttons on the uniform and hems must be done. Never wear part of the uniform in view of the public. Show up on Friday in full uniform or carrying it to change here. If you have old shoes, clean them so they look new. White polish works well and is fairly cheap also.

Music: Everyone must have their own music and all of your music must be in the flip folder. Also you must have means by which to read it so that you are not out of position for playing (i.e. have a lyre for the horn or make sure it can be held so you can play properly).

Instrument: Please clean your instrument so that it is presentable for the game. We have polish in the band hall for silver instruments and brass instruments can be cleaned with Windex.

Itinerary:

6:00 - be in full uniform, in place, ready to play. Freshmen and section leaders be earlier thanthat so you can help the Freshmen with uniform issues.

6:30 - We will line up in the Lobo Den Parking lot

6:45 - We will march around the track and get into the stands

7:30 - Game

Half Time: - band gets drinks at the band hall, puts up hats and plumes, and is excused for third quarter. Freshmen majorettes change for fourth quarter performance.

Dismissed after the game from the stands. Please put away all of your band items and take home all that is not needed for band class on Monday.

I am looking forward to seeing the band's first performance this year and whipping the Mavericks on the scoreboard and at halftime.
